Age Suitability
Pickaxe Player is a podcast player, not a content service. The app ships with no shows, no episodes, and no catalog — what you hear is entirely the feeds you add.
What the age rating means
The rating on the App Store listing describes what podcasts across the open ecosystem commonly contain — occasional strong language, mature themes in news and true crime, references to violence, alcohol, or medical topics — not material included in the app. In practice, an age rating for a podcast player is an age rating for podcasting at large.
What the app doesn't include
- No ads and no in-app purchases.
- No social features, comments, chat, or messaging.
- No web browser.
- No content of its own — it plays the RSS feeds added by whoever uses the device.
If a child uses this app
The app has no parental controls or content filtering. Anyone using it can add any public or private podcast feed, and podcast feeds are not age-gated at the source. If that's more freedom than you want a child to have, manage access with Apple's Screen Time — its app and content restrictions apply to this app like any other.
